Massachusetts Drug Testing For Delivery Drivers

Much like many employment positions, delivery drivers are almost always required to take pre-employment drug screening. Depending on if the delivery driver position is regulated by the Department of Transportation, drivers may be subjected to regular subsequent drug screening as outlined by the regulations. There are a number of Massachusetts drug testing facilities that are qualified to collect specimens and perform drug screenings for both DOT and non-DOT drivers. The collection of samples for Massachusetts drug testing will use either urine, saliva, or blood to test drivers for the existence of any illegal substances. The presence of any illegal substances will typically prevent a delivery driver from obtaining a position as a driver. This is due to the risks and liability involved should a delivery driver be involved in an accident as a result of drug use. Furthermore, a positive test result could prevent a delivery driver from obtaining a driving position at all in the future.
Abuse of illegal substances can have a negative impact on any person especially delivery drivers. The safety of company property, the driver, and other motorists on the road is extremely important to any company that employs delivery drivers.
